Atheists believe there is no God. That is quite plainly a belief system. While they say they ‘do not believe’ it’s obvious they do. They believe against while we believe in. Anyone who refutes that claim is showing their total ignorance of what it means to ‘believe.’ I’m sick and tired of people claiming offense because there are some of us who exercise our first amendment right of free speech, expression and the right to gather. We have just as many God-given rights as they do and their lack of knowledge and understanding doesn’t change that. Atheism is a religion that believes there is no God but let’s explore that a little more.
Can Atheists Prove There is no God?
The bottom line of whether a belief system is right or wrong is in the proof. Can an atheist prove there is no God? Of course not. Their prime supposition cannot be proved by science, philosophy or man’s wisdom. They respond with, “You cannot prove God exists!” Actually there is a ton of legitimate evidence that proves the existence of God. There is in fact no evidence that has ever been provided that can prove God does not exist.
Here’s a list of 20 reasons for the existence of God: http://www.strangenotions.com/god-exists/ The Bible says God is known by the things that He made.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
There is ample evidence in creation that God exists. The next time you pick up an orange or an apple, ask yourself why it’s the perfect size for a human being. The next time you see someone embrace another with compassion, ask yourself why humans are built to love others. Those two facts alone should communicate God to you. I could list hundreds of things in creation that evidence a loving God, but a thousand proofs won’t convince the atheist whose mind is already closed.
I have a warning for atheists today. Here it is.
Don’t take actions to restrict religious freedom because it will only hurt you in the end.
If you continue with your hate filled campaign to rid the world of religion, your actions will inspire legal precedence that can only affect you in the end. The more our precious liberties are supplanted and restricted, the more it hurts everyone. You cannot escape the very laws you want to promote because your system is a belief system also. Ban my beliefs and yours will be also.
Freedom of speech is being attacked relentlessly these days. The government doesn’t want us talking about it’s shortcomings; atheists don’t want us to talk about God and Jesus Christ; Islam doesn’t want us saying anything negative about their beloved ‘prophet’ under penalty of death and gays don’t want us telling them what the Bible says about homosexuality. There are so many forces trying to restrict free speech that I’m afraid sooner than later, freedom itself will die.
The main thing people should be supporting is our very freedom to believe what we want and to express those beliefs. If you don’t want to hear it, that’s up to you. But don’t tell me I can’t say what I believe. There’s more at stake to your selfish desire to silence me. You restrict your own freedom by trying to curtail mine.
The Last Bastion of Freedom
Ronald Reagan’s first inaugural address contained these solemn words concerning freedom in the United States:
“We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow. And let there be no misunderstanding–we are going to begin to act, beginning today.
The economic ills we suffer have come upon us over several decades. They will not go away in days, weeks, or months, but they will go away. They will go away because we, as Americans, have the capacity now, as we have had in the past, to do whatever needs to be done to preserve this last and greatest bastion of freedom.”
Those who strive to inhibit our freedom deserve exactly what they are trying to impose on others. When their freedom is restricted then watch them moan. Even worldly wisdom says you shouldn’t shoot yourself in your own foot to gain what would amount to be only a short-term gain.
I have nothing against anyone who is atheist. You are free to believe what you want but understand it is belief and not fact. You cannot prove God does not exist and you’re staking your own life on your empty belief system. If you’re trying to shut-up those people who disagree with you, know that your actions can only hurt you in the end. Freedom is nothing to mess around with. Be wise, not stupid. Be tolerant, not legalistic.
My brothers and sisters in Christ: Take a stand on God’s Word and pray we have free course to speak it, write it, publish it and post it.
Pray for freedom today.
